Standards and guidelines
VDI 6022
The guideline VDI 6022 “Hygiene requirements for ventilation and air-conditioning systems and units”, Part 1, January 2018 sets out the requirements for HVAC systems in design, manufacture, installation, operation and maintenance, which are useful or necessary for hygienic operation in ensuring the protection of people.
EHEDG Doc. 47
European legislation requires that the handling, processing and packaging of food should be carried out under hygienic conditions. Equipment manufacturers and operators are also directly responsible for implementing these requirements. The European Hygienic Engineering & Design Group (EHEDG) provides guidance on the most important requirements in accordance with national and international laws. Information is provided in EHEDG Doc. 47 on the proper use of ventilation systems to meet the hygienic requirements of food production.
EN 16798-3
The EN 16798-3 controls the ventilation in non-residential buildings and provides general principles and requirements for air conditioning and space cooling systems. Here air types are determined, whose air quality is recommended depending on origin and hygienic requirements.
EN ISO 14644-1
The EN ISO 14644 standard describes the requirements for cleanrooms and associated cleanroom areas. In production rooms, the purity levels of the air vary depending on the product as stipulated in EN ISO 14644-1. This guideline classifies rooms according to their particle count per cubic meter (depending on particle size).
ATEX (2014/34/EU; 1999/92/EC)
The term ATEX is derived from the French term ATmosphere EXplosibles and has represented the European standard for explosion protection for over 20 years. These guidelines are aimed at manufacturers and operators of equipment and protective systems used in potentially explosive atmospheres. Viledon air filters also offer equipment for different types of filters, which allow these filters to be used in potentially explosive areas (ATEX zones).
DIN 53438
During the testing of combustible materials in accordance with DIN 53438, a burner is used to simulate the effect of flames. In the process, burning time of the specimen is measured from the first application to the extinguishing of the flame, or until the tip of the flame has reached the upper measurement level on the burning specimen. Viledon filter media are subjected to surface flame exposure (DIN 53438-3). They are self-extinguishing and thus correspond to Fire Class F1.
ANSI/ISA-71.04-2013
Viledon ChemControl filtration systems meet all relevant international quality and performance standards, including the world's most important: the standard 71.04-2013 by International Society of Automation (ISA) for corrosion degree in electronic and electrical equipment.
DIN 1946-4
In June 2018, the DIN Standards Committee for Heating and Ventilation Technology and their safety (NHRS) published a revised version of DIN 1946-4:2018-06. Part 4 "Ventilation systems in buildings and rooms of the health service" applies to the planning, construction and approval of ventilation systems (HVAC systems) in buildings and rooms for the health service. Section 6.5.7 describes the requirements for air filtration.
